Nic

Hi, I'm Nic, an academic turned organization collaborator. I work for the Global Forum for Civic Affairs, where I’m the executive director, developing international collaborations to address the global threats posed by misinformation, misperception, & disinformation. I love human communication, thinking about how people’s relationships appease their senses of rational and irrational. My projects are driven by curiosity and trying learn how to be a better human. When not watching professional wrestling, playing video games, making playlists, or drinking tea with my partner Jennifer, I can be found goofing around with our 2 kids, & dog, Halo Shibata.

Kyle

Hi, I’m Kyle, an associate professor and the graduate program coordinator at Northern Iowa University. My work is rooted in a deep belief that it’s everyone’s moral duty to dedicate their life to equity, peace, and justice. I’ve published research in many scholarly journals including Communication Education, Western Journal of Communication, Communication Reports, and Communication Quarterly. When I’m not playing video games, bass guitar, or piano, I can be found riding my bicycle or hanging out Kat, my amazing partner and our dog Rosie, who is a very good pup.

Katherine

Hi, I’m Katherine, a professor of communication studies at The University of Memphis. My research examines the challenges faced by professionals of color, including those with English as a second language. I generally publish research within the communication discipline versus what is generally left out of discussions addressing education, civic engagement, and activism. My professional goal is to make clear that the longstanding view of higher education, from a White male perspective, does not often match the experience of others. I love growing roses and photography. When I grow up, I want to be a wedding photographer.
